The new gen in Germany is on the rise and Young Pirate is in the thick of it, an uncompromising talent based in West Berlin he’s one to watch for 2019.
Born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1999 to a Kenyan Mother and Somali Father, Young Pirate first touched down in Germany in 2008 at the age of nine. Describing himself as Avant Garde some of his early influences include classical music, Wiz Khalifa and Young Dolph.
His first mixtape Somali Trap racked up thousands of streams on Spotify, with his fan base growing and his video output building he started to gain recognition in the Hamburg scene that he was a part of. More recently relocating to Berlin where he is now based full time he’s currently in the studio working on his new E.P stated for release next year.
Young Pirate is the new face of the increasingly international global rap movement, expect big things.
